Inspiration can strike at any moment. I was walking by these Honesty plants and I was drawn to capture the subtle colors. My gran called them shilling plants because they look like coins. This photo show the plant after the bloom, which is small magenta colored flowers. Then it magically turns into this seed pods.
This is the humble beginnings of the painting. Also, this is X (because he has a few extra chromosomes) a cat that I board a few times of year. What a sweet boy!
Slowly coming together. Pink are hard for me.
Adding a little bit of metallic gold to add shimmer to the Honesty seed pods.
Final touches and done.
Plus, celebrating 4 years since my complete mastectomy from breast cancer. Not sure celebrating is the correct word, but milepost. I see hope and age which is a gift!
